Vision
Every day, millions and millions of people are hurting, broken, lonely. They try all sorts of ways to find healing and happiness. Many succeed – only to eventually wind up more hurt, broken, and lonely than before. And so nothing ever really changes.
But what if millions and millions of people had the opportunity to know the hope and love of Jesus Christ – the true and lasting source of peace and fulfillment? What if families could be reconciled? What if communities could be renewed? What if cities and nations could be restored?
When German started college at Cal Berkeley, he joined a fraternity. He’d grown up hearing about
God, but he never dreamed that God would radically change his life. A friend invited German to a Cru campus retreat, and it was there that German first understood the unconditional, compelling love of Jesus Christ. “He called [to] me and I couldn’t say ‘no’! How could you say ‘no’ to someone who loves you so much?!” German gave his life to Christ.
Then came Gleen, one of German’s fraternity brothers. Gleen was obsessed with his image and appearance, and devoted most of his time
to physical self-improvement, but deep down he knew that he was still unfulfilled. One day German invited Gleen to watch the JESUS Film with him. God used the film to reveal to Gleen that the key to his desire for fulfillment was Jesus Christ. Right then Gleen gave his life to Christ.
Gleen went on to lead others to faith in Christ, including his sister. Now he is impacting an entire community for Christ as a pastor of a Spanish-speaking church in South Carolina.
Individuals embracing the love of Jesus are then used by God to bring hope and peace to families, communities, cities, and nations.
Our vision is to reach the nations with the hope and love of Jesus Christ through reaching individuals with the hope and love of Jesus Christ.
Right now we are especially focusing on the world’s 100 million college students, who will go on to become leaders in every field and every nation. A student who fully embraces Christ has an immediate mission field at his fingertips – like German with his fraternity brothers. At no other time in life will a person be such an insider with so many peers who have so much in common.
In our ministry with Cru, we are trusting God to reach the 100 million university students of the world with the message of Christ. Reach the campus today, reach the world tomorrow.
